Dr. Helen Huang, Associate Professor in the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC) and North Carolina State University (NCSU), visited Delsys on November 11th 2016. Dr. Huang, a previous winner of the Delsys Prize, presented her research work on “Neural Control of Robotic Limb Prostheses”. Her research efforts focus on developing neural control for robotic upper- and lower-limb prostheses to enable limb amputees to use their prosthetic limbs intuitively, efficiently, and safely. Dr. Huang presented innovative engineering approaches that may further advance the function of artificial limbs and significantly improve the quality of life of individuals with limb amputations.
