Manufacturing Engineer

Delsys seeks a motivated engineer with strong organizational skills to work directly with the product manufacturing team and the product development team to help develop and establish advanced manufacturing processes and methods for our wearable sensor product line. The position will provide exposure to cross-disciplinary approaches in engineering, including mechanical/electrical design, software integration, material and component sourcing, and project management.  Duties will be performed within the context of an ISO13485 Quality System for medical devices. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have an affinity for analytical thinking, pragmatic problem-solving and an interest in process development.

Primary Responsibilities

·         Support a full spectrum of manufacturing activities

·         Build, validate and maintain manufacturing test features

·         Design, develop, validate and maintain manufacturing processes

·         Generate, organize and ensure manufacturing records are complete and maintained

·         Learn and operate within our ISO13485 quality system

·         Guide and assist Manufacturing Technicians with small batch production activities: hand soldering, testing and mechanical assembly.

·         Become proficient in all manufacturing aspects of our product line in order to support the manufacturing team with organization and optimization projects

Desired Qualifications

·         Currently enrolled in or have recently completed an undergraduate degree in an electrical or mechanical engineering program or a biomechanical engineering program with a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering.

·         Have superb organizational skills to manage and track the information related to production activities

·         Understand assembly and production methods and processes

·         Be comfortable with mechanical drawings and electrical details

·         Show independent problem-solving capability

·         Possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills

·         Familiar with medical device development activities or ISO13485 product development activities
