Purpose of campaign
The purpose of the EMG Equipment and Financial Assistance Donation from Delsys is to support the biomechanics community. The EMG Equipment and Financial Assistance Donations will be awarded to the researchers and students who best exhibit a:

  • Clear goal toward meaningful advancements in the science of biomechanics
  • Need for financial support

Award information

  • EMG equipment 2-Sensor Research+ System (Value ~$7,500/ea; Qty 5)
  • Financial Assistance: $1000 USD/ Student or Post-Doc (Qty 30)

Eligibility criteria
Any individual eighteen (18) years of age and older may participate. Excluded from participation are employees, consultants and members of: Delsys Incorporated and Delsys Europe Ltd and their immediate relatives.

Grading and judgement criteria, information regarding review process
Eligible entries will be scored on a scale from 0 to 6 as follows:

  • Relevance to Biomechanics research – 3
  • Evidence of Need – 3

Deadline for Submission
EMG Equipment Assistance and Financial Support Assistance Applications must be received by 5:00PM EDT; GMT -4 April 30th, 2020. Applications submitted after this deadline will not be considered.

Confidentiality statement
All discussions among Reviewers concerning all aspects of the content of the entries are strictly confidential. Reviewers must not discuss with applicants or other interested parties any information relating to the review of a specific entry.

Conflict of interest statement
Delsys, Inc. will attempt to make every effort to ensure not only that its decisions are fair and objective, but that they are seen to be so. No Review Board member with a real or apparent conflict of interest may participate in the review of a specific application; therefore:

  1. Board members are excluded from submitting an entry.
  2. Board members must recuse themselves from deliberation if they:
    1. are from the same institution or company as the applicant,
    2. have collaborated or published with the applicant in a relevant field within the last five (5) years (Publications such as Review articles and Book chapters do not constitute a conflict of interest),
    3. have been a student or supervisor of the applicant within the last five (5) years,
    4. are a close personal friend, business associate or relative (e.g., spouse, minor child, sibling, or parent) of the applicant,
    5. are an officer, director, member, owner, trustee, expert, advisor, consultant (with or without compensation), or employee of an applicant or other organization that would be affected by his or her decision,
    6. are in negotiations or have an arrangement for prospective employment with an applicant or other organization that would be affected by his or her decision,
    7. have had long-standing scientific or personal differences with the applicant,
    8. are in a position to gain or lose financially from the outcome of the application (e.g., hold stock in the company of an industry partner or a competitor), or
    9. for some other reason feel that they cannot provide an objective review of the entry.
